Week 4 position ranks

Here we are already at the quarter pole of the NFL season, and for most of us leaving just nine regular season fantasy match ups left. This has still continued to be a crazy season. Rookie RBs have been on fire, while some veterans have started to show up while others continue to struggle. For those of us sitting at 1–2 or 0–3 its time to reevaluate our teams, be vigilant on the waiver wires and start making trades. For those of you 2–1 or 3–0 its all about building your depth for injuries or coming bye weeks. Start evaluating your bench for a playoff run, make sure you have enough back ups at key positions for the bye weeks, and be prepared to ride your studs to fantasy glory. As always good luck in Week 4 and may the fantasy gods shine down on your teams this week.

So here we go for Week 4 of our QB ranks. We are getting better tape and after this week will have a months worth of data to go over to see who’s for real and who’s a fake. Most of the veterans we’ve come to know and love are starting to remind us why we loved them so. We have also had some great rookie play this season. I don’t know if most people have noticed, but Cleveland Browns’ rookie DeShone Kizer is currently a top 15 QB. While guys like Jameis Winston, Cam Newton, Andy Dalton, Eli Manning and Phillip Rivers are all 20 or below.

My goodness how about these rookie running backs. They seem to be on fire this year. Just a few years ago running backs weren’t drafted high by NFL teams because they felt they wear down to quickly. After recent performances from guys like Todd Gurley, Ezekiel Elliot, Kareem Hunt, Dalvin Cook and Leonard Fournette, it seems we are in a new age of young running backs. Re-insurgence of guys like Carlos Hyde and CJ Anderson, and play from guys like Chris Thompson and Tarik Cohen have added a depth to the RB class we haven’t seen years.

Chris Hogan is catching fire for the Patriots, moving into the top 20 at the position for Week 4.

Odell Beckham, Jr., has returned and put up two touchdowns and a unique celebration this past week. Larry Fitzgerald and Brandin Cooks also made big comebacks this week with top 10 performances. Surprisingly, with Sam Bradford out, Stefon Diggs and Adam Thielen have continued to ball out this season. It was also nice to see Sammy Watkins finally have a good game in L.A. and Jordy Nelson return from injury with two touchdowns. More surprising is that Julio Jones, considered a top three option and a must start every week, continues his slow start being the 20th ranked WR. The main injury concern this week will be if Doug Baldwin can play with his groin injury.

The Texans’ Ryan Griffin comes in the top five at TE in Week 4.

Besides Zach Ertz and Gronk, TE has been a crap shoot most of the season. Finding a good TE to start every week is getting harder and harder, as the position just seems to be a few elite and a bunch of normal guys out there. David Njoku has continued to rise up the TE board with another good touchdown catch for the Browns, while Travis Kelce had another disappointing game. Hopefully some of the TEs we’ve come to count on can start turning it around this week.
