Giving a telling off

Over the past 6 months a number of people have shared their challenges in ‘giving a telling off’ – my words not theirs. Whether its the time of year or a coincidence it seems to have happened enough…

Long COVID Recovery Story

August covid story.

I tested this past Friday or Saturday 26th/27th and was negative, but this morning (29th) I tested positive.

I’ve been feeling sick since the 10th with one day of fever on the 11th, I tested negative on the 11th, 5th, and a few more times after but have been experiencing congestion and a few hours of lack of taste. After the sick day on the 11th I’ve been in recovery mode with coughing and nose blowing until this past Thursday (25th) where my symptoms worsened, sore throat, exhaustion, etc. Late last night I was drinking tea and my taste seemed off, so I tested again and got a positive. I did eat an apricot and dill pickle at the same time today, I can still taste a little, but not much. Have I had a little covid for weeks and am just now positive or did I have something else and just started with covid on Thursday? Although the symptoms seem so similar. I feel pretty fine right now, but will be keeping to myself for a while.

Wednesday the 31st update: Still feeling pretty good minus congestion, taste and smell not back to full force, but some scents come through.

Friday, September 1st: Felt all the way better and resumed some normal activities.

Saturday, September 2nd: came back down feeling poorly in the evening.

Sunday, September 3rd: In bed with a low grade fever again. Other days I felt like I had a mild fever, but it didn’t show up on the thermometer.

Tuesday, September 6th: I’ve moved on to what feels like when I had covid in January. Doing small things, like taking the dog out, have become the biggest chores. Exhaustion sets in quickly and I’m down for about an hour before I can try another small activity. This lasted two weeks the first time, I’m hopeful to get the go ahead to take some steroids soon.

Saturday, September 10th: I did finally take steroids this morning after I found out I couldn’t blow up a balloon. I’m still taking it as easy as possible and laying around a bunch, but hey! I’m doing pretty good.

September 12th: the first two days on steroids I showed improvement, then back to baseline of exhaustion, some headaches, sore throat, and a class fever. I have long covid now.

Monday, September 19th: I made an appointment with my doctor and it took 6 days to get in, she said I’m fine-ish, just have long covid. Prescribed an inhaler, I took it and my headache lifted, I felt empty and…
