I am not the official boss question answerer for all the writers in the world. However, I have been working as a writer, editor, and publisher for a long time, and over those years, I’ve found that writers often ask me the same questions.
Maybe they don’t ask in the same words each time, but after a while, the questions sorted themselves into themes. The answers were similar enough that I could offer an answer that would work for a particular person and help them customize their solution if they needed.
Author’s note: As far as I know, nobody ever asked me questions about personal writing they never published. If that’s what they had in mind, they never told me.

This is the biggest thing most writers want to know. There are several parts to the answer to this question. This is the “usual answer”:
What a bunch of nonsense to tell someone, especially someone who is just starting. If a writer cared only about writing, they could keep a journal under their bed and write in that. Problem solved.
But that’s not what someone who has this question needs for an answer.
This question is about fear and self-worth. What they’re really asking is what readers’ opinions are going to be, or if readers are going to have an opinion in the first place.
