How to get your Angular app on GitHub Pages

This assumes that you have Angular installed and are in the directory in which you want to build your app. Line one generates the app and line 2 makes the app directory the working directory.

Package are great, but the next optional step allows you to update your app for production without installing a package.

Add lines 4 and 5 below to your package.json file:

This step essentially automates lines 2 and 3 in Step 2.

If you don’t know how to do this, check out this post. There are instructions on how to sign up for GitHub and creating a repository. Once you have a GitHub repository with the same name as your app (i.e. YOURAPP as before), follow these steps:

Be sure to change the ALL CAPS part with your GitHub username and the name of your project.

Go to the GitHub repository for your project and select the ‘Settings’ tab at the top of the page:

Then scroll down to the ‘GitHub Pages’ section and select ‘master branch/docs folder:

Sometimes it takes a few minutes for the page to update so you may see a 404 message for a few minutes. If you don’t see anything after 10 minutes, recheck your steps. Happy coding!
