What are common Parenting Mistakes of Indians

Most of the Indian Parents complain about lack of discipline, lack of concentration, lack of self motivation in their kids. Also, addiction, procrastination, irresponsible and directionless approach towards life are some of the issues. However, roots of these problem are often found in their mental growth. We, as responsible and caring parents, are very alert about the physical growth of our children (i.e. we rush them to a Doctor as soon as we detect some issues with their physical well-being) but we are completely ignorant about the way their emotional well-being and mental growth.

We never teach our kids how to think? Neither there is any ‘user manual’ instructing them on how to use an important asset like Mind in a correct manner. Thinking about your thought process is known as Metacognition. For enriching our mentality we should be able to thoughtfully select our thoughts. Human brains are capable of thinking hundreds of different types of thoughts in a day but our thinking lingers around just a handful of thoughts. We are repeatedly thinking of the same crap throughout the day. As long as thoughts are concerned, three characteristics are important: Variety, Quality and Depth. We should make our kids aware of this. Once the kids get clarity on their mental abilities and thought process, they are less likely to distract in their life and walk on the path of life in a disciplined and focus way with endless motivation coming from within.

There is an interesting online course namely ‘Ultrasharp Minds Masterclass’ on this website:

A must watch course for both Indian teens and parents. It covers a wide variety of topics like Shunyatwa Meditation, Emotion Management, Time Management, Procrastination cure, creative thinking, analytical thinking etc.

Afterall parenting is such a serious affair, and we want to leave no stones unturned to give our kids a bright future.

Happy Parenting!
