The Door

A portrait of a school door that shocks me every day.

Project’s Content (what/who/where it’s about and why it was interesting to you):

This project is inspired by the front door of Animation Floor at Tisch School of the Arts that shocks people a lot. Because of the special location of the door, when I was shocked late in one night, I started to think about the door from an animator’s perspective. Maybe this door can make one transform and be a new person. Also, as I am not going to be here anymore, I consider this project as an visualization of my memory of days on this floor.

Animation Techniques:

The softwares of the project are Adobe Animate and Adobe After Effects. In Animate, I rotoscoped my friend shocked by the door and other video footage I found online. Then I brought the swf file to AE to composite and added electricity special effects. The colors are always black, white and blue for electricity. I intended to create the experimental feeling in this animtion world.
